MATCH REPORT | Chester FC XI 2-1 CPD Bangor 1876
A Chester FC XI edged out the newly formed, fan owned CPD Bangor 1876 this evening.
Matty Waters started the scoring early on, whipping a ball over the Bangor keeper and finding the net via the inside of the post.
However, Bangor rallied and went level on 21 minutes. Les Davies had already shot wide a few minutes prior, but then the striker sent in a dangerous low ball which curled through the box, skidded off the surface and found the bottom corner.
Chester hit the front once again just six minutes later, George Macready with a superb ball in behind for Matty Hughes – and the skipper for the evening controlled and volleyed home from a tight angle.
Both sides huffed and puffed in the second half – but with little reward. Akwasi Asante and Waters both struck the woodwork in quick succession on the hour mark – but the game fizzled out into a narrow victory for the Blues.
