WOMENS REPORT | Chester FC 6-2 Wythenshawe Amateurs
Chester FC Women returned to winning ways with a 6-2 victory against Wythenshawe Amateurs on Sunday.
Rachel Lever was in red hot form, bagging four goals as the Blues bounced back from a narrow midweek defeat at West Kirby.
Martin Fitzsimon’s side took an early lead at Ellesmere Port Sports Village when Lever opened her account for the afternoon and Amy Smith doubled the advantage soon after to ensure a 2-0 lead at the interval.
Wythenshawe halved the deficit with the opening goal of the second period but normal service was soon resumed as Lever claimed her second and Rachel Kelly then made it 4-1 to the hosts.
Lever then completed her hat-trick and grabbed a fourth to open up a 6-1 lead before the visitors pulled a goal back late on.
Chester are back in action this weekend with a trip to Altrincham Ladies on Sunday in North West Women’s Regional Football League Division One South.
