NLN PREVIEW | Chester vs Alfreton Town
The Blues kick off December looking to get back to winning ways, as Alfreton Town visit the Deva Stadium.
Saturday’s late defeat at home to Gateshead was a first league loss at the Deva this term, and meant no wins in four now for Bern and Jonno’s side. After a decent return of two draws from two away games last week upon return from self isolation, the Blues couldn’t build on that and lost late.
It was a third league defeat of the season, all by 2-1 scorelines and all conceding a late goal. The Seals will look at begin a brand new – and busy – month in positive fashion with victory tonight. Joel Taylor returns from a one-match ban.
They face an Alfreton side who have also won just one of their last five matches – and the Blues have beaten them on both occasions at the Deva in the past two seasons. Former Chester defender and Academy Graduate James Jones is expected to feature in defence for Billy Heath’s side.
