BREAKING | Blues swoop to sign Kurt Willoughby!
Chester FC are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated forward Kurt Willoughby!
A promotion winner with York City last season, Kurt has penned a one-year deal at the Deva Stadium.
The 25-year-old scored 20 goals in 43 games for FC United of Manchester at this level during the 2018/19 campaign, earning him an England C call up.
A striker, who can also operate out wide, Willoughby was then signed by AFC Fylde in 2019.
From Blackpool, Kurt joined the Minstermen last summer after a two-year spell with the Coasters and was part of the side who won the National League North Play-Offs last season.
He scored 11 goals in the 2021/22 campaign, including a hat-trick in an FA Cup victory at Morpeth Town.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “I’m really pleased to get Kurt on board for the season ahead.
“He is really versatile across the forward line and has a proven record for scoring goals at this level.
“He had significant interest from other clubs, and I’m delighted he has chosen to be a part of what we want to do for this coming season. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
Welcome aboard, Kurt!
