READ | Virtual Ticket Donations – A word of thanks from the Academy
Academy Head Coach Mike Allcock had the following message for Blues supporters…
This is a message from everyone at the Academy expressing their thanks and appreciation for anyone who made a contribution to the game last Wednesday against AFC Fylde in the FA Youth Cup.
Since my arrival over two years ago, I have been astonished at the amount of support the Chester Community shows our Academy. It is great to see and I cannot describe how important these contributions are throughout the year. Due to it being replayed and us playing at home, this was an unexpected cost and it meant that this was going to eat into funds that may have been used elsewhere to provide the scholars with the best possible experiences.
We will continue to work hard to try and produce more players to represent our first team, and as I am writing this message it was great to see that three Academy graduates represented our first team in a 3-2 win away at Boston United in the Vanarama National League North yesterday afternoon. Not only that, if you look through the pyramid of football yesterday afternoon there was a whole host of players who have completed their two year scholarship at the club and are achieving great things within the game.
I hope everyone who came down to the Deva on Wednesday night enjoyed the football the young lads produced. They played some excellent attacking football, but also showed resilience, tenacity and a competitive edge to ensure they qualified for the next round.
We will now host South Shields on Wednesday 2nd November, and we would love to see you all again and potentially a few more faces too.
Your support is always appreciated and any funds we do receive, I can assure you that every single penny goes into trying to provide our next generation of players with the best possible experiences.
Hope to see you all on Wednesday night!
Up The Seals.
Mike Allcock
Academy Manager
