    FROM THE DUGOUT

“Last week in training was a tough one. In terms of what we did, that was very good, right attitude, right tempo and hard work. The difficulty came because we had to ask ourselves some tough questions. It was by no means any form of panic from the players or coaches, but more from a view of, now we have something to learn. We weren’t at our best, but why? What should we have done? But when you take the emotion out of it. Yes we weren’t at our best, but the intentions were there and we had chances still to win the game.

“Against Warrington we got the reaction needed. Back to dominating possession and looking lively going forward and creating chances.

“We showed Character when going 1-0 down against the run of play, but we carried on playing our game to go in at half time 2-1. The game went to 2-2 but we still felt in control, and that we were still going to get a positive result from the game based on our overall performance and the chances we had created.

“Ellesmere Port is a local derby and as the saying goes, form doesn’t come into these. The game at home was a close game. I still felt we were good value for our win, but there were moments where it could have gone either way. We’ll need to have a healthy respect for that and bring our game as we always try to do. At the time we set a record for attendance at a women’s game. That really helped us get over the line, we’ll need those fans to travel to the County Officers to help us do it again!”
