Chester FC sign Jack Lambert!
Chester FC are delighted to announce the permanent signing of attacking midfielder Jack Lambert following his departure from Kidderminster Harriers!
The 25-year-old joins the Blues in time for tomorrow’s game against Rushall Olympic at the Deva, signing a contract until the end of the season.
From Newcastle, Jack’s first spell at Darlington between 2021 and 2023 was hugely productive, scoring 26 times in 88 appearances.
In the 2022/23 National League North season, Lambert scored 16 goals including hat-tricks against AFC Telford and Gloucester City, before moving up to the National League with Kidderminster on a two-year contract in the summer of 2023.
Jack made over 30 appearances last season in the fifth tier, contributing four goals and five assists. This season, he returned to Darlington on loan between November and the beginning of February, playing nine times.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Jack has without doubt proven himself to be a high-quality player at this level of football.
It has been a frustrating season for him and one that probably didn’t get going until a successful loan spell at Darlington recently.
“We wanted to add an attacking threat that can play in an attacking midfield role or in the forward line and there won’t be many available with Jack’s talent.
“We have shown ourselves to be a really hard-working unit but in the upcoming games we need to make sure we match that hard work with the quality required to create chances and score goals. Jack is exactly that.
“It may feel strange signing a player who has not been featuring for a side in and around us in the Play-Off places but every environment is different and players can perform differently at different clubs. I back our environment and Jack’s pedigree to make this a successful acquisition between now and the end of the season.”
Calum continued: “This signing has been on the cards for a few weeks now so isn’t linked to any other situations in the squad.
“We still have a desire to add another more defensively minded midfield player to the group and the loss of Jack Bainbridge probably accelerates the need for one.“
Welcome to the Seals, Jack!
