Welcome to Chester FC, Pat Jones!
Chester FC are delighted to announce the signing of 22-year-old forward Pat Jones following his release from Exeter City in the summer.
Pat’s deal will run until the end of 25/26, and he will link up immediately with the squad for tonight’s game against Curzon Ashton.
Stockport-born, Jones arrives at the Deva Stadium with EFL and International pedigree.
The winger broke into the first team at Huddersfield Town in 2020 after youth team stints with Ruthin Town, Bala Town and Wrexham.
Pat made 15 appearances in the Championship for the Terriers, finding the net on his debut in spectacular fashion during a 2-1 defeat to Norwich City in 2022.
After a five-year stint in West Yorkshire, Jones made the switch to Devon with Exeter City, where he featured 17 times in League One last campaign, as the Grecians finished in 16th.
The versatile forward can play anywhere across the frontline and in attacking midfield, with creativity one of the many facets of his game.
Calum was delighted to have got the deal over the line: “Signing a player like Pat is a real coup for us,” he said
“He is a player with talent and qualities well above this level but Pat is in a place where playing games this season is important to him at this moment in time.
“He is a direct, dynamic wide player with real recent EFL experience.
“Pat’s ceiling is well above the National League North and I have no doubt that if he reaches the levels I believe he will then he will return to the EFL sooner rather than later.
“For now, I am looking forward to seeing him play a part in what we want to do.
“He is someone we have known of for some time and have worked hard in recent weeks to get a deal done.
“I am really looking forward to working with him in the knowledge of what he will offer us but also in helping him fulfil his undoubted potential.”
Welcome to CH1, Pat!
