“I’m buzzing” – A first chat with Lewis Leigh!

Lewis Leigh has spoke for the first time after putting pen-to-paper on a deal until the end of 25/26 with Chester FC!

The 21-year-old featured 17 times in the EFL last term for Bromley as well as on seven occasions for FC Halifax Town in the National League.

On joining Chester FC: “I’m buzzing to join such a big football club,” said Lewis.

“After the chats I’ve had with the gaffer I feel like we can do big things together.”

Leigh also spoke on his style of play and what he will bring to our midfield unit: “I would describe myself as a technical player who likes to get on the ball but also likes putting a tackle in,” he said.

“I can play all kinds of passes, I like to break the lines and help the team.”

“The experience I’ve already got will be massive for me, having played a lot of men’s football at my age.

Lewis also commented on meeting the squad and the gaffer after the deal was sealed: “It has been a really good start, the boys are right at it every day in training,” he said.

“The gaffer knows what he wants from me and we will be up there at the end of the season.

“The current midfield unit is a very good one, so obviously it will be a challenge to break in there, but I’m up for a challenge and will relish that.

“I can’t wait to get more games under my belt and I want to get promoted – That is the main goal.”
