It’s another long trip for the Blues tomorrow – as Chester face a trip south to play Dover Athletic.
Tuesday’s heartbreaking late defeat at Gateshead was somewhat undeserved – the Blues putting in a positive showing against the Heed; who had not conceded a home goal before their 3-2 victory.
Ross Hannah headed in his second of the season – and Matty Waters scored a stunning effort in only his second appearance of the campaign.
Caretaker Manager Tom Shaw will also be encouraged by the return of Harry White – who came off the bench to play a part in both goals.

Dover have had an excellent start to their National League campaign. Not being fazed by losing the likes of Ricky Miller and Ricky Modeste, Chris Kinnear has assembled a squad that currently sit in 5th in the National League; just two points off the top.
Two fantastic away wins in a week at Tranmere and Aldershot put them top – before Tuesday night’s disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Boreham Wood saw them drop off the summit.
In this fixture last season, the Blues fell to a 3-1 defeat. James Alabi scored a stunning equaliser after Miller had put the hosts ahead from the spot – before goals from Miller once more and Joe Healy secured the points for the home side.
