Last time out, the Blues showed excellent character to come from two goals behind at Eastleigh. James Akintunde and Ryan Astles scored to send the visitors home with a deserved point.
Wrexham have started this season brilliantly – sitting up in third place, after plenty of investment in their side this summer.
Dean Keates side have struggled to pick up a clean run of results recently – losing at AFC Fylde, and conceding a late equaliser at home to Leyton Orient last time out.
HISTORY BOOKS
Wednesday night marks the 154th cross border derby – with the Blues having the advantage in terms of victories since reformation in 2010.
Wrexham have not won at the Swansway since 2010, and the Blues have been victorious in three of the eight fixtures, Wrexham winning twice.
The Swansway has sprung up some memorable derbies in the past, including a last minute winner back in 2014, and the 2-1 victory over ten years ago.
ONE TO WATCH
Shaun Pearson – Defender
Well, it is not very often a centre-half is the player that supporters must see as a threat.
Pearson’s experience in this division, including promotion with Grimsby Town in 2016, just shows the leadership and how levelled headed the 28-year old is.
The York-born defender has previous experience in a footballing rivalry, when the Mariners faced Lincoln City on several occasions during his 5 year spell.
