YOUTH | Chester FC vs Boreham Wood Semi-Final venue confirmed
Chester FC can today announce that our National League U19 Alliance Cup Semi-Final against Boreham Wood has been confirmed as a 2pm kick off at The Cheshire Sports Club on Wednesday 11th April.
Given the tremendous evening that took place at The Swansway Chester Stadium in January, which saw over 1000 people in attendance at the Youth fixture against Gateshead, we had hoped to stage a similar evening for the semi-final. Unfortunately, Boreham Wood have been forced to decline our request to stage the game in the evening due to transport difficulties an evening kick off would present upon returning back to Boreham Wood after midnight.
The fixture remains a significant fixture for our Youth side and would encourage as many supporters as possible to attend the fixture to support our young players. Donation buckets will be present on the day for those who wish to donate to the “Back the Blues fund”.
Academy Head Coach Calum McIntyre added: “Its going to be a huge test for us. We are facing the most established side at this level of football who have a really strong programme and I think their Academy model is something that a huge amount of clubs at this level would love to replicate.”
“We have regularly been the underdogs in cup ties over the last few seasons and have enjoyed some tremendous success against the odds. We are really looking forward to it. Our boys are really proud to represent the club and I would hope any supporters that can would turn out and get behind them once more.”
