    The Blues end their five year stay in the Vanarama National League tomorrow – with a lunchtime trip up to Barrow.

    Despite Chester’s fate already being sealed, the hosts still have everything to play for. The Bluebirds sit 20th – just one place above the drop zone – on 49 points. They are one point ahead of Woking going into the final day knowing a win will secure their safety. Woking’s fixture at home to Dover is live on BT Sport, with the Cards having it all to do in the battle for survival.

    Barrow took midfielder Kingsley James on loan from the Blues in February – and he will be ineligible to feature in the game at Holker Street.

    It will be Caretaker Boss Calum McIntyre’s last game in temporary charge before a decision is made regarding a new First Team Manager.

    McIntyre will be looking to finish with a flourish after two defeats to Boreham Wood and Maidstone United. There was a massive positive at the Swansway last weekend, as 17-year-old Cain Noble became the Blues youngest goalscorer since reformation on his debut.

    In the reverse fixture, the Blues beat Barrow in dramatic fashion on an exciting night at the Swansway Chester Stadium. Maiden goals for the club for Jordan Archer and Reece Hall-Johnson were cancelled out by two first half added time goals. However, Lucas Dawson struck in the 94th minute to secure the three points.

    Luke James – Striker

    23-year-old James is on loan from EFL side Forest Green Rovers – having joined the club in January. The forward has been pivotal in the Bluebirds hunt for safety, his goals proving vital thus far and will be a threat up top again tomorrow. He burst onto the scene at Hartlepool United, coming through the youth ranks and becoming the clubs youngest ever goalscorer at the age of 17 years and 64 days in 2012 – bagging in a 2-0 victory at Rochdale. Moves to Peterborough and a loan spell at Bristol Rovers followed; before joining FGR last summer. His only goal for the club came in an EFL Trophy tie against Newport County. He has seven goals since his arrival at Holker Street, including the winning goal in crucial away victories at Maidstone and Maidenhead.
