BREAKING | Iwan Murray agrees new deal with Blues for 2019-20
Chester Football Club are pleased to confirm that Iwan Murray has agreed a new one-year deal at the Swansway Chester Stadium.
The 18-year-old attacker signed his first senior deal last summer after graduating from the ever-successful Chester FC Youth Academy.
Murray, from Bodelwyddan, scored three goals during 2018/19: a goal of the season contender at Ashton United in the National League North, as well as strikes away at Winsford in the Cheshire Senior Cup and against City of Liverpool in the Emirates FA Cup.
Iwan made his debut as a late replacement for Scott Burton, who was injured in the warm up prior to our game against Kidderminster in September.
It was a chance Murray grabbed with both hands and has become a firm member of the first team setup.
Speaking to ChesterFC.com on the announcement, Joint Boss Anthony Johnson said: “Iwan is another player we felt would benefit from staying around the first team squad to aid his development.
“His intelligence, clever movement and eye for a goal are some of the reasons he has the potential to go far in the game. We’re delighted to be working with him for another year.”
Congratulations, Iwan!
