The Academy now has in the region of 125 players proudly playing for our football club. Our philosophy is not only to develop football skills but also life skills and respect.

The Juniors have gone from strength to strength this season under the direction of Wes Kilgannon and our dedicated coaches. From a start of 27 players the group has grown to 60+ representing age groups from 9 to 14. This summer we are excited for the first time to be entering tournaments in Milan, Limerick, and the Pro Academy series. This is a wonderful opportunity for our players to test themselves against the likes of AC Milan, Benfica, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Scholars meanwhile are currently still performing well in the Academy North Division of the U19 league, currently sitting third and could still clinch the title with just a handful of games to go. They are also in the Academy Cup final on Wednesday 7th May against Maidstone United at St Georges Park.

Before the game tomorrow, the Senior Blues will also be presenting their Player of the Season and also the Peter Mitchell Award, which is given to the Academy Players’ Player of the Season!

They are also very kindly presenting a cheque at half time to the Academy for £5,000 – thank you for your support.
