Blues swoop to sign forward Dan Turner!
Chester FC are delighted to confirm the signing of forward Dan Turner!
The 25-year-old arrives from beaten Play-Off finalists Brackley Town with goalscoring pedigree at National League North level, penning a one-year contract down CH1.
Turner arrived at the Saints last summer for an undisclosed fee from Leamington after scoring 26 league goals for the Brakes in 75 appearances.
Dan started 13 times for Brackley last term, scoring on five occasions, and has now become our fourth new summer signing – joining Ben Pollock, Jack Bainbridge and Cam Mason at the Deva.
From Stone, Turner started his career at Port Vale, making 34 appearances for the club, before playing for Hyde United, Matlock Town and Hednesford Town.
Speaking on his newest recruit, Manager Calum McIntyre said: “We have made it really clear that we want to add a number of players to our forward options ahead of the coming season and Dan is the first of those targets that we have been able to get over the line.
“He’s someone I really like. He is a natural finisher with real quality inside the 18-yard box and can also operate from a wider position which gives us some variety in our attacking options.
“We wanted to add players that have proven they can score goals at this level and Dan has twice hit double figures for the season in this division. He’s at a really good age profile for us and I feel like he strengthens our forward options significantly.
“We recognise we didn’t score enough goals last season and we feel that adding options that are proven at this level is really important to change that.
“This won’t be the only forward that we add to the group ahead of the season starting and the hard work is continuing behind the scenes.
“We can’t match the finances that plenty of other clubs are offering, but one thing is clear in all the players that we have brought to the club this summer in that they want to play for this club, be a part of the ambitions we have here and are attracted to the club’s training model.”
Welcome to the Blues, Dan!
