BREAKING | Anthony Dudley extends stay with Chester FC

Chester FC are pleased to announce that Anthony Dudley has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 25-year-old forward has committed to a fifth season at the Deva Stadium and is another exciting addition to new Manager Calum McIntyre’s squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

‘Duds’ has made 131 appearances for the club, the fourth highest total since our 2010 reformation, after initially signing on loan from Salford City in 2018.

In his first season, he won the Golden Boot Award with 11 goals, while also being awarded the Seals Live Player of the Season.

Last term, Dudley featured 22 times for the Blues. He has scored on 28 occasions and contributed 35 assists in total in his four years so far at the club.

The Blues Boss McIntyre had this to say: “There aren’t many players of Duds’ kind at this level of football.

“The best version of himself is a real finisher who is so effective in around the penalty area. The daytime training model gives us an opportunity to work with him physical and equip him as best as possible to demonstrate his talent.

“He is a versatile forward, but he is very much a forward player. I see Duds at the top end of the pitch rather than a deeper midfield role. I think everyone can see the type of midfielder we need to compliment what we have, and we will do that as when the time comes.”

Great to have you staying on board, Duds!
