BREAKING | Declan Weeks extends contract until end of season!

Chester FC are delighted to announce that Declan Weeks has extended his contract at the Deva Stadium until the end of the season!

The 25-year-old signed an initial short-term deal with the club at the start of the campaign and has now put pen to paper to keep him with the Blues at least until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Your contributions to the Boost the Budget campaign have played their part in helping retain Dec! You can continue to sign up, make a difference to your club and earn some money-can’t-buy perks in the process at www.chesterfc.com/boostthebudget.

Weeks’ performances had drawn interest from elsewhere, but the dynamic midfielder has opted to sign up with the Blues.

Declan has made 14 appearances so far this term, scoring three goals, including two excellent strikes in consecutive games at York and then at home to Hereford on Tuesday. He was also named Chester FC Man of the Match in midweek for his commanding display.

Blues Joint Bosses Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley were delighted to keep Weeks on board, and Jonno had this to say following the announcement: “This is excellent news that another very talented young man has chosen us at the club to keep his career moving forwards.

“He’s been quite brilliant since he’s come to the club in terms of performance – but it’s his ability to already look like he’s been here for years with his professional approach and the respect he’s gained from all of the lads.”

Great to have you staying on board, Dec!
