BREAKING | George Glendon commits immediate future to Blues

Chester Football Club are delighted to confirm that highly rated midfielder George Glendon has opted to extend his stay for a further few months with the Blues, subject to FA ratification.

The 24-year-old joined on a short-term basis at the end of last month after the Blues lost Gary’s Roberts and Stopforth to injury.

Nevertheless, Glendon – who has been in demand from EFL sides since the end of last season – has rejected offers to stay with the club for the near future.

George was released from League Two side Carlisle United at the end of last season. From Manchester, he was previously at Fleetwood Town where he made close to 50 appearances for the Cod Army.

Glendon started his career at Manchester City and Captained their Elite Development Squad – as well as playing for England at Under 16 and Under 17’s level.

Blues Joint Manager Anthony Johnson said: “After having a number of offers of clubs higher up the pyramid, George has decided that his immediate future lies at Chester.

“Even in the small amount of time he’s been here you can see the impact he’s had on the group. For us to tie down the calibre of player George is shows that he believes in what we’re doing.”
