BREAKING | Josh Askew returns to Chester FC!
Chester Football Club are pleased to welcome back Josh Askew on an initial short-term deal!
The 23-year-old returns to the Deva Stadium for a second spell having made three starts for the Blues in the curtailed 2020/21 campaign.
Josh chipped in with one goal, on his first start, in the 3-0 victory over AFC Telford on New Year’s Day.
A left-sided player, Askew initially arrived at CH1 from Boston United in December last year. He comes back to the club following a brief stint at Clitheroe.
The former Blackburn Rovers, Salford City and Curzon Ashton man will wear the number 23 shirt and his arrival is subject to clearance.
Speaking on the signing, Blues Joint Boss Anthony Johnson said: “We’re really pleased that Josh has come back in with us.
“He’s shown a great appetite to play for the club once again, and he showed a terrific attitude in going to play for Clitheroe to get his match sharpness up to speed.
“He’s a belting lad as we all already know and someone that will give us fantastic balance.”
Welcome back to Chester FC, Josh!
