BREAKING | Three Seals named in National League North Team of the Season!

We’re delighted to announce that three Chester FC players have been selected in the Vanarama National League North Team of the Season!

We’d like to say a big well done to…

    Harry Tyrer – GK

The Everton loanee has had quite the season down CH1. Recruited last summer on a season-long deal, Tyrer was quick to show his key attributes.

His dominance inside the box was clear for all to see, as was his remarkable shot stopping. His distribution isn’t bad either – that assist for Kurt Willoughby’s winner at home to Bradford (PA) springs to mind!

A fan favourite from day one, his signature dive into the Chester fans after away victories became a highlight on the road. A record of 21 clean sheets in his 55 appearances isn’t bad either.

Harry evidently has a bright future in the game and has been a credit to the Blues both on and off the pitch – he will always be fondly remembered at the Deva.

    Congrats, HT1!

    Declan Weeks – CM

George Glendon’s season ending injury saw Weeks take the armband this year, and he has shouldered that responsibility in style.

If you thought his first two seasons with the club were impressive, the context of this campaign makes his third perhaps the best of the lot.

Declan has scored critical goals and provided an outstanding 19 assists in 43 games in all competitions this term, as well as passing a century of appearances for the Seals.

He leads by example and has displayed on numerous why he is one of the best performers in Non-League Football. This is deserved recognition.

    Congrats, Dec!

    Kurt Willoughby – CF

He looks good, he looks fine!

From the moment Kurt made his debut in pre-season, the Blues faithful knew they had a poacher on their hands. Quickly being crowned ‘King Kurt’ by the supporters, Willoughby has delivered and scored vital goals as Cal Mac’s men sailed up the table.

With 27 goals in 52 appearances this season, and hitting the magical 20 in the league, Kurt has been more than good value for that coveted number nine shirt.

He’s not just lethal inside the box – his free kick against Banbury United and his fantastic curling strike at Southport are both up for the Goal of the Season Award.

Willoughby has most definitely earned his King moniker this season and is rightly recognised in the XI.

    Congrats, Kurt!
