Cam Mason departs Chester FC
Chester FC can confirm that goalkeeper Cameron Mason has today departed the club.
The 28-year-old made seven appearances for the club after signing in the summer.
Cam started the first five games of the season before an injury in the win over Scarborough saw him ruled out for an extended period of time. He also spent time out on loan at Matlock Town earlier in the campaign.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Firstly, it has been a really difficult period for Cam and I am proud of how the staff and his team-mates have supported him through some personal challenges.
“After discussions this week around opportunities and limitations to his game time, we have mutually agreed to part ways to allow him to pursue his football elsewhere.
“The part of my job that never gets any easier is disappointing good people but it is vital to put the team and the club first in every single decision.
“I want to place on record how positive and important Cam has been for the younger members of our Goalkeeping department. He leaves us with our genuine best wishes for the future, on and off the pitch.”
Thank you for all of your efforts and all the very best for the future, Cam.
