Cameron Mason joins Matlock Town on loan

Chester FC goalkeeper Cameron Mason has joined Matlock Town on loan for three months.

Cam joined the Blues in the summer and made five appearances, before an injury in the 3-2 win over Scarborough Athletic in August ruled him out for two months.

Mason made his return in the Cheshire Senior Cup shootout victory over Alsager Town last month. The Blues have a recall clause in their favour for the duration of this loan.

Matlock currently sit 19th in the Northern Premier Division with 17 points from 18 matches.

Manager Calum McIntyre said: “This is an opportunity for Cam to go out and play games.

“He has too much ability to be sat on the bench or even in the stand on a Matchday and this is about enabling him to play games.

“Cam had asked for the opportunity to get some minutes and now we are able to do that, the right opportunity has arisen.

“Since his injury, his attitude and application has been first class and I’m pleased for him that we can now get him some regular match minutes with this loan.”

    Good luck, Cam!
