CFCW Preview: FC St Helens (h)

Chester FC Women return to the Leap76 Stadium for the first time in two weeks this weekend, as they welcome joint league leaders F.C. St Helens.

The Blues returned to winning ways in the league last weekend following a hard fought 4-2 away victory at Altrincham FC Women.

Seals captain Molly Wood scored the pick of the goals, catching the keeper off her line and scoring from well over 30 yards to net her first of the campaign. The result recorded Chester’s second away win of the season and kept them sixth in the table.

Sunday’s visitors F.C. St Helens come into this weekend’s clash in fantastic form, the Merseyside outfit current hold a 100% record in the league after taking maximum points from their opening five games.

The Stripes currently sit joint top in the league with Wythenshawe on fifteen points, scoring a remarkable 22 goals in the process.

F.C. St Helens were promoted to Division 1 South in the summer following the side winning the Liverpool Women & Youth Division 1 title, a season that saw them go unbeaten in the league.
