CFCW Preview: Mossley Hill (a)

Chester FC Women are in cup competition this weekend, as they travel away to face Mossley Hill in the Preliminary Round of the Alliance Design & Print Cup.

The Blues return action this weekend following a week off, due to their league match against Hindley Women being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Prior to last weekend’s postponement, Chester recorded a 4-2 league victory last time out against Sunday’s hosts to make it seven consecutive league wins on the spin.

A player of the match performance from Seals forward Molly Wood following a sublime hat-trick and a fine individual goal from Charlotte Randles, saw Chester pick up maximum points.

Sunday’s opponents come into this weekend’s game on the back of a 2-1 away win at FC St Helens, their first win in five games. The Liverpool outfit are currently placed in 6th position in the league with six wins to their name.

This will be the third meeting between the sides in the last twelve months, with both teams eating a win each on the head to head record. Chester more recently winning 4-2 in the league and Mossley Hill recording a 3-2 win in last season’s league cup.

Kick off is 2pm on Sunday afternoon at Admiral Park, Liverpool, L8 8JN.

Entry is free for all supporters.

    ● A win for Chester on Sunday would see them win for an eighth game in a row in all competitions.
