CFCW Preview: Northwich Vixens (a)
It’s the final game of the season for Chester FC Women on Thursday evening, as they travel away to face Northwich Vixens looking to end the campaign on a high.
The Blues recited their third consecutive league win a row last time out, following a 3-2 victory away at Hindley Juniors Women.
A header from leading goal scorer Molly Wood and a brace from the in-form Ash Bullock ensured Chester made it nine points from their last nine on offer. The win kept the pressure on second place Poulton, with the two sides separated by one point with one game remaining.
Thursday’s hosts come into the midweek clash on the back of a heavy defeat last time out to the league leaders Wythenshawe. The Vixens are winless in their last five league games and currently find themselves rooted to the foot of the table.
The Seals claimed all three points when the two sides met in the reverse fixture, a brace from Molly Wood and a goal from Sarah Redman saw Chester run out 3-0 winners.
