CFCW Preview: Runcorn Linnets (a)

It’s second against third this weekend, as Chester FC Women make the short trip away to face Runcorn Linnets at The APEC Taxis Stadium looking to make it six consecutive league wins on the spin.

The Blues return to league action this weekend following a week off, due to their game with Northwich Vixens being postponed last Sunday.

Prior to the postponement Chester had won five out of their last five in the league, with the most recent of them coming away from home against FC St Helens. A fantastic away display saw the Seals dispatch the Stripes and move into 3rd place.

Sunday’s hosts Runcorn Linnets come into this weekend’s game in fantastic form, following a run of three consecutive wins in the league with fifteen goals scored in the process.

The Linnets currently find themselves in 2nd place in the table one place and three points above Chester, but having played three games more. A win for Chester on Sunday would see them leapfrog Runcorn into 2nd place and close the gap on league leaders Wythenshawe.
