CFCW Preview: Warrington Town (h)

It’s ’Derby Day’ part two this weekend as Chester FC Women, welcome local rivals Warrington Town Women to The Leap76 Stadium looking to complete a league double and record an eleventh league win in a row.

The Blues return action this weekend following a week off, due to their league match against Ellesmere Port Town Ladies being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Prior to last weekend’s postponement, Chester recorded a 4-2 league victory last time out against Sunday’s visitors to make it ten consecutive league wins on the spin.

Goals from Molly Wood, Charlotte Dowell, Ellie Bradley and substitute Emma Gray ensured Chester took maximum points on the road and kept in touching distance of leaders Wythenshawe.

Sunday’s visitors Warrington come into this weekend’s clash on the back of crushing home defeat to league leaders Wythenshaw last time out. The Cheshire outfit currently find themselves in fourth place on thirty-one points, five behind Chester having played five more times.

The two sides have already met twice to date so far this season, with The Seals coming out on top on both occasions. A convincing 4-1 win in the 2nd qualifying round of The Women’s FA Cup, followed by a 4-2 win just over two weeks ago.
