CFCW Report: Chester 3-1 Warrington Town

Chester FC Women made it three straight wins with a convincing victory over Warrington Town in the NWWRFL Division One South.

An early brace from Chenai Lefebvre set the Blues on their way. She timed her run to perfection on seven minutes to beat the Warrington offside trap and curl the ball home beyond the onrushing keeper.

Then the lead was doubled after a quarter of an hour and it was Lefebvre again. After the Blues had a couple of opportunities to score inside the box, the forward made no mistake to put Kalvin Williams’ side in a commanding position.

Two became three before the interval as good play down the left from Chloe Davis saw her low cutback turned home from close range by Ciara Lee.

Davis was causing Warrington plenty of problems and just before the break saw her near post shot tipped on to the woodwork to deny Chester a fourth.

For 35 minutes, the second half played out with no real openings at either end as the Blues navigated their way to an important league win. They went close to a fourth though once again on 80 minutes as sub Erin Parr was denied by the ‘keeper before Emma Gray fired the rebound off target.

Warrington did get a consolation goal late on from a corner as the game ended 3-1.
