
Chester FC Awards Evening 2024/25: Recap
Last night, the Chester FC Awards Evening 2024/25 took place at the Queen Hotel, Chester!
Here’s a recap of the evening, kindly hosted by the fantastic Steve Bower, with a big thanks to Rick Matthews for the photos…
The Women’s Development Manager Alex Dutton was first up to announce that the winner of the Women’s Development Player of the Season is Chloe Allen.
Academy Head Coach Mike Allcock was next on stage, and he announced that Academy Player of the Season was Oskar Rosenblatt, just 24 hours after the 18-year-old forward signed his first senior deal at Chester FC.
Next it was Community Trust CEO Jim Green, who announce the winner of The Community Award was Dan Ward for his exceptional contribution to the community and City of Chester.
Women’s Team Captain Emma Gray was then up on stage to announce that the winner of the Women’s Players’ Player of the Season was Ciara Lee.
Then it was the Gary Talbot Golden Boot Award, kindly sponsored by Complete Security Service. To present the award, Gary’s wife Christine and his grandaughter Maisie were in attendance to announce Tom Peers as the winner with 21 goals (and counting)!
The Away Travel Player of the Season, voted on by those who follow the club up and down the country on the Hipkiss Express, was presented by Richard Prince and awarded to Harrison Burke.
Next was Goal of the Season, sponsored by Metlab Supplies. After watching the ten contenders, Ian Metcalf came to the stage to announce that the winner was Kurt Willoughby for his last minute stunner against Scarborough back in August.
Women’s Manager Kalvin Williams then came to the stage to reflect on his first season in charge, and announce that the Women’s Manager’s Player of the Season is Maddie Sconce.
Club Captain Connell Rawlinson was next up to announce that the Men’s Players’ Player of the Season is Harrison Burke, his second award of the night.
Then it was the first-ever winner of The Barrie Hipkiss Award, which was renamed from Clubperson of the Year last season following Barrie’s passing. General Manager Albert Davies announced that the recipient of the award for 2024/25 is Richard Prince, for his exceptional voluntary work around the club.
Our final two awards of the night were presented on behalf of event sponsors MBNA by Brian Green.
The CFU Women’s Player of the Season was awarded to Emma Gray, who is the top scorer for the Women’s side this term.
Finally, the CFU Men’s Player of the Season was Harrison Burke for a second successive season – his third trophy of the night.
Manager Calum McIntyre closed out the night looking ahead to the final three games of the season – and beyond. Thank you to everyone who attended on the night – we hope you had a great time!
