Chester FC sign Kieran Burton on loan!
Chester FC are pleased to announce the signing of Kieran Burton on loan from Hartlepool United for the rest of the season!
A left-sided defender, the 20-year-old impressed last term at Scarborough Athletic as they finished 8th in the National League North, missing out on the play-offs on goal difference.
He contributed five goals in 34 appearances for the Seadogs in 2022/23, including a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Kidderminster Harriers.
Interest was high for Burton in the summer, who opted to move up a division to join the Pools.
He has had a spell on loan at Darlington this term, playing against the Blues back in November.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Kieran is a versatile left sided player that can operate as a wing back, full back or centre back.
“We haven’t had an out and out left sided centre back in a back four this season and we have been keen to rectify this.
“This is an important option for us as he adds significant defensive attributes but his athleticism and versatility will be very important for us between now and the end of the season.
“Kieran has played a significant amount of games at this level despite his age and we feel this will be hugely beneficial in helping us achieve a place in the play-offs.”
