Club Statement
Chester Football Club condemns the behaviour of an individual who instigated a serious confrontation at the end of today’s match at Worksop Town.
This individual was verbally abusive before being able to gain access to the tunnel area, where he entered the away changing room, initiating a physical altercation where he had to be restrained by players and staff.
Club officials have been able to identify the individual involved and he will be banned from attending future Chester fixtures.
We acknowledge it has been a disappointing start to the season and as a fan-owned club, we will always defend and respect supporters right to ask questions and criticise.
However, as a club we do not believe vile abuse, personal attacks, and physical threats are warranted under any circumstances, and have a zero-tolerance policy for such behaviour.
