Club Statement: Capacity Increase
Chester Football Club are pleased to confirm that the operational capacity of the Deva Stadium has been restored to 5,126 with immediate effect.
The increase returns the Deva to full capacity and was approved at the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) meeting in June 2025, with no objections from SAG members.
The club had been subject to a reduced capacity of 3,368 in response to the crowd disorder at the play-off semi-final against Brackley Town on May 7th 2023.
This marks the end of a phased return to full capacity, during which time the club has worked hard to implement a comprehensive action plan that has significantly strengthened our safety operations.
We are grateful to all SAG stakeholders for recognising the progress made, and for their ongoing cooperation in ensuring the Deva Stadium is a safe and welcoming environment – reflecting the values of our supporter-owned, community football club.
With this matter now resolved, we look forward to focusing fully on giving Calum and the players our total support for the season ahead, starting tomorrow against Scarborough Athletic.
