Chester’s first season in the National League North saw a mixture of results – but sat the Blues in a nice position to build for success in the future. A relegation hangover didn’t loom, as new the Managers quickly assembled a competitive squad.
A fantastic 11 match unbeaten run across September and October saw the Blues on the cusp of the top of the table. Injuries and unfortunate fixture circumstances saw the form drop off and – despite one defeat in the last eight games of the campaign – Chester FC finished 9th and three points shy of the play-offs. But it was a season of stability after one of disappointment the year before; and a platform to build on.
