Declan Weeks and Kevin Roberts both reach 200 Chester FC appearances
On Saturday, Declan Weeks and Kevin Roberts became just the second and third players to reach 200 appearances for Chester FC!
At Chorley, both Weeks and Roberts joined only Craig Mahon in the unique ‘200 Club’ for the reformed Blues.
35-year-old Kevin Roberts is in his second spell with Chester after starting as a Youth Team Player with Chester City and becoming a centurion in appearances before departing for Cambridge United in 2010.
Roberts returned to the reformed club in the summer of 2019 and has now gone on to make 200 appearances in a variety of different positions, as well as combining his playing role with his physiotherapy duties for the First Team and Academy over the last three years.
Kev is a fantastic ambassador for the club both on and off the pitch and has made more than 300 appearances now across the club – old and new.
Declan Weeks signed for the Blues the following pre-season in the covid year of 2020. Ever since he put pen to paper, Weeks has been an integral part of the midfield.
In the 2022/23 campaign, when Club Captain George Glendon was ruled out for the season due to injury, Dec stepped up in sensational fashion as Captain – skippering the team to a third place finish and winning the Players’ Player and CFU Player of the Season.
This season has been his most incredible campaign yet numbers wise, contributing a remarkable 18 assists from midfield – creating skilfully in open play as well as being deadly from set pieces.
Both Kev and Dec are credits our Football Club, and will be rightly recognised in the coming weeks for this achievement. Congratulations to both!
