Declan Weeks to miss opening two matches

Chester FC midfielder Declan Weeks will miss the opening two games of the National League North season due to suspension.

Weeks was charged with misconduct by the FA following our 1-1 draw at Hereford back in February, and will miss today’s opener at Spennymoor Town – as well as next Saturday’s fixture at the Deva Stadium against Brackley Town.

Although disappointed with the decision to suspend Declan for a further two matches – given he had already served a suspension – and misgivings both player and club held over the evidence before the panel, we respect the outcome, and look forward to seeing Declan back in action soon.
