FA Youth Cup Report: Chester FC 11-0 Rochdale

A strong performance from the young Seals earned progression to the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup.

The Blues took control in the early stages and led in the 16th minute through forward Isaac Bush.

Ollie Cattermole headed across the box to our number 10 who converted a simple chance at the back post.

A perfect start for the Seals who doubled the advantage on the half-hour mark.

This time, captain Zach Abbott latched on to a floated cross and looped a header in the net.

Cattermole almost made three just a few moments later when he flicked into the side-netting after a drilled cross.

The Blues came out firing after the interval and doubled the lead within four minutes.

Cattermole was heavily involved again as he found space in the box and squared the ball to give Bush the simplest of finishes to double his tally.

Full-back Sammy Dyer made it four in the 49th minute when his long-range effort from near the touchline sailed into the net.

Bush grabbed his hat-trick eight minutes after the break when he headed past the Rochdale keeper from an expertly-delivered cross.

A set-piece made it six just 11 minutes into the second-half when a scramble inside the away six-yard box led to the ball being bundled in by Kian Power.

An own goal made it seven in the 64th minute, before Luka Salvatore bagged four goals inside eight minutes to increase the scoreline to 11 by full-time.

All Salvatore’s strikes were clever from close-range and capped off a ruthless display from the young Seals, who now await the draw for the Third Qualifying Round.
