Festus Arthur speaks ahead of Bedford Town test!

    Recent addition Festus Arthur impressed during his first two league appearances for the Blues, firstly on debut in the 1-1 draw against Kidderminster Harriers, followed by Tuesday night’s 2-0 success over Alfreton Town.

    The defender spoke about his enjoyment so far in a Chester shirt, as well as his excitement ahead of Saturday’s return to the Deva Stadium.

    On his first two games, Festus said: “I’ve absolutely loved it so far!

    “We had to stay resilient and defend last Saturday, but we definitely improved in the second-half.

    “We knew that we had to be better and we took that into Tuesday’s game at Alfreton.

    “It was an improved performance and great to get all three points, but all our attention turns to Saturday’s game at home.”

    Festus also spoke on his individual performance during the midweek win in Derbyshire.

    “I felt that I was loud on Tuesday, I won headers and played a lot of diagonal balls – Overall it was a bit more like the type of performance I want to show,” he said.

    On his defensive partners, Arthur said: “They’re all great lads, I learn off them and they learn from me.

    “We trade off well as a unit and hopefully we can get more clean sheets together.”

    The centre-back, who was included in the Enterprise National League North Team of the Week for his performance against Alfreton, also spoke of his excitement to play at the Deva again on Saturday.

    He said: “I always look forward to playing at home.

    “The lads will be ready for the test – We will all be in the best condition that we can be in to go and get another win on the board.

    “The clean sheet on Tuesday was so important, we’ve just got to try and get another one tomorrow.”
