Harrison Burke reaches 100 Chester FC appearances!
Defender Harrison Burke marked his 100th appearance in style yesterday, scoring a brace in the 6-1 thumping of Gloucester City.
The youngest player to reach a century of appearances for the reformed club at the age of just 21, the Dodleston native has been on an upward trajectory from the very beginning down CH1.
Harrison first caught the eye with his progression through the Academy, going on to Captain the Youth Team.
Burke’s rise was meteoric in 2021/22, impressing in the first half of the campaign on loan at Clitheroe, before returning to the Blues to make 19 appearances – with his first goal for the club being named Goal of the Season.
2022/23 was, by his own admission, a frustrating campaign due to injuries. But even then, Harrison mustered 30 appearances and scored arguably the most memorable goal of the whole campaign – a bullet header in front of 2,000 ecstatic Seals in a 1-1 FA Cup draw at Oldham Athletic.
Drink it in. A special, special moment for us all to enjoy. 💙#OneOfOurOwn @HarrisonBurke20 🦭#OurClub 🔵⚪️ pic.twitter.com/NCCOs3S7k7

His off-field presence around the football club was also recognised at the end of the last campaign, picking up the Community Trust Community Award for his work within the charitable arm of the football club.
This year, Burke has had a hugely successful campaign as the Blues continue to push for a play-off spot. Making 47 appearances, Harrison has been a key part of the defensive unit, at his usual centre half position but also once again showing his versatility and impressing as a full-back when required.
It was indeed from right-back no less than 24 hours ago that Burkenbauer nodded home twice from set pieces to set Calum McIntyre’s side on their way to a sublime 6-1 away win – the first time Chester have scored six on the road in over 11 years.
This year he signed a new deal until 2026 at the Deva, meaning we could be seeing One of Our Own surpass more milestones in the near future.
Congratulations, Harrison!
