Henry Briscoe joins 1874 Northwich on three-month loan

Chester FC can confirm that young defender Henry Briscoe has joined 1874 Northwich on a three-month loan deal.

The defender impressed during his senior debut as the Blues picked up all three points away at King’s Lynn Town on the final day of last season.

Henry also featured in the early stages of pre-season before he picked up an injury in the clash against Runcorn Linnets that kept him on the sidelines for a couple of weeks.

The 18-year-old links up with 1874 as they search for promotion from the Midland League Premier Division, the ninth tier of the English pyramid.

It has been a positive start to 25/26 for the club, who have a record of seven points from their first four fixtures, following wins against Stone Old Alleynians and Romulus, alongside a draw with Hanley Town.

Calum McIntyre discussed Henry’s loan move: “Henry needs to go and play senior games to continue his development,” said Cal.

“He played some games in the NPL West last season and we had a loan lined up further up the pyramid prior to his injury early into pre-season.

“For me, beyond the age of 18, young players need to be playing every week to continue their development and this loan allows him to do that.

“He goes to a good club that will give him the platform to continue his development towards being a first-team player for Chester.”

    Best of luck, Henry!
