Important details ahead of our trip to Belfast!
We would like to share some important details ahead of this weekend’s trip to Northern Ireland to face Glentoran.
The trip will be a crucial one for Calum and the squad in terms of preparation for 25/26.
Aside for the fixture on Saturday against the NIFL Premiership side, the players will be put through a two-day training camp as well as several team bonding exercises.
The staff and players will be based 32 miles outside of Belfast in Newcastle, a seaside town at the foot of Slieve Donard, the highest mountain in Northern Ireland.
We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone at Glentoran Football Club, Seamus Heath, Andy Hall and P&O Lloyd Coaches for their crucial support with the tour.
A statement from CFU Vice-Chair Jim Green ahead of the trip.
“The players and staff are excited to be heading across to Northern Ireland for what will be a demanding yet hugely rewarding few days.
“There’s a real focus on work, with an intensive two-day training camp, before a game against a strong Glentoran side, with the schedule designed to provide the team with the exact kind of challenges needed at this stage of the build-up to the new campaign.
“The facilities we will be using are first class and our hosts couldn’t have done more for us. The opportunity for players to spend four days together in close proximity will be really valuable. They’ll travel together, train together, eat together, and we’ve planned some teambuilding activities for them to get stuck into too.
“Anyone who went over to the Isle of Man last year will know what a great weekend it was, but it was a bit of a whirlwind with games on the Friday evening and Sunday morning, whereas this trip more opportunities to embed the identity and structure for the season ahead.
“We hope all of our fans who are travelling over for the game have a fantastic experience, and the players are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday afternoon, and will be around after the match to thank you for your support.”
