Improved facilities for disabled fans at the Deva!

Chester FC are pleased to update supporters on our plans to improve facilities for disabled fans at the Deva Stadium!

First shared with City Fans United members last week, the plans include the creation of a new dedicated viewing platform integrated into the East Stand.

The modern, covered facility will accommodate up to 13 wheelchair users and their companions, with the installation of a lift providing access to the first floor, including the Gary Talbot Legends Lounge, and new toilet facilities.

The Club and Chester FC Community Trust, who are working together to make the Deva Stadium a more inclusive and accessible venue, wish to acknowledge the assistance of Dave Gilkes (DK Architects), Gavin Floyd (Surveyor), Darren Burling (Quantity Surveyor), Clive Braidwood (Betts Associates Structural Engineers), Mark Howell (Aspect Plumbing) and Ian Stone (Sterling Services), who have contributed to the development of the plans.

While we are now working up detailed costings, it is clear that to bring this project to life, we will need to raise significant funds, which will include accessing grants, and positive discussions have taken place with several potential funders.

We will also be asking CFU members, supporters, local businesses and the wider community for their support, with the Blacon Seals the first to step up, having set themselves the goal of raising £10,000 by embarking on a 23.4-mile fundraising walk from Chester FC to Marine AFC on Boxing Day.
