Iwan Murray signs new one-year-deal at the Deva Stadium!

Chester FC are delighted to announce that Iwan Murray has signed a new contract to extend his stay at the Deva Stadium!

The 24-year-old joins Tom Peers, Jack Bainbridge and Nathan Woodthorpe by penning a new one-year deal with a further option to extend down CH1.

Murray was an instrumental figure in the Seals’ midfield last campaign and featured 41 times in all competitions, scoring on four occasions.

The most notable was the opening goal in our play-off eliminator victory over Buxton.

Iwan also netted in both of our wins over Marine, and in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round with a sensational free-kick away at Scarborough Athletic.

The central midfielder had a two-year-stay at Runcorn Linnets between 2020-22 before he returned to the Deva alongside manager Calum McIntyre.

Iwan now sits on 138 Chester FC appearances and sits inside the top ten for games played for the club.

Murray commented after his future was secured: “I am really happy to be at Chester for another season.

“I’ve been at the club for a while now and last season was really enjoyable to be a part of, it’s a really good set of lads in the changing room and that was a big part of wanting to sign for the club again for the season ahead.”

Thrilled to have you on board, Iwan!
