Jack Bainbridge signs for Chester FC!
Chester FC are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Bainbridge, our second new arrival of the summer.
The 6″3 holding midfielder joins us on a one-year deal following a spell at Marine AFC, where he played a vital role in helping the Mariners in their first-ever promotion to the National League North.
This included Jack scoring the crucial goal in their 2-1 Northern Premier Play-Off Final victory against Macclesfield.
Prior to that fruitful spell, the 26-year-old made over a century of appearances for Southport FC. Whilst at the Sandgrounders, Jack became a fan favourite and an ever-present figure in the middle of the park.
In the formative years of his career, Bainbridge was part of the youth academies at Everton, Stoke City, Derby County and Sunderland, making three senior appearances with the latter.
His experience and consistency makes him a valuable addition to the squad, as he joins fellow new summer signing Ben Pollock at the Deva Stadium for the upcoming campaign.
Bainbridge is a highly rated midfielder, and the Blues have beaten off competition to land the 26-year-old.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “We have had a need for an out-and-out holding midfielder for a number of years and I am pleased we have secured an important piece of the summer business.
“We are clear this summer. We need to add a physical presence to improve what we already have. We need to add experience of playing at this level and being successful. We need to add goals.
“Jack has a style that will be hugely appreciated by our supporters.
“He is a big, strong midfield player with a terrific work rate and will be an important acquisition. He has personality that will be important in our changing room as we look for a successful season.
“There will be more to come.”
Welcome aboard, Jack!
