Kevin Roberts signs new one-year deal!

Chester FC are pleased to announce that Kevin Roberts has penned a new one-year contract extension with the club!

The 34-year-old versatile Roberts has extended his Deva stay into a sixth season with the reformed club,

Roberts has now made 168 appearances for the Seals following his 2019 return, needing just three more to surpass Anthony Dudley into second in our all-time appearances record since reformation.

Kevin, who started his career with Chester City and played over 100 times, will be set to his 300 appearances combined during the 2024/25 season.

Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Kevin is an important part of the group and I’m pleased he is part of what we are doing next season.

“He plays a big part on and off the pitch and his experience has been key around the place in the last two seasons. He will be used more in the defensive unit next term as we reshape our midfield for the season ahead.

“Over the previous two seasons, we have been forced to have slightly younger groups than we would’ve liked.

“We want to make sure that we have a team full of all the on pitch attributes that we demand; but with the right blend of experienced players, younger players but all with real character and personality.”

Roberts will continue with his physiotherapy role with both the First Team and Academy next season.

Great to have you staying on board, Kev!
