MATCH PREVIEW | Blues on the road at Cheadle and Colne for double header!

It’s a double header for the Blues to kick off the weekend – as we head to Cheadle Town this evening; before a visit to Colne FC tomorrow afternoon.

Cheadle Town play in the North West Counties Division One South and finished 16th last term. The game at Park Road Stadium this evening kicks off at 7.45pm. Chester are expected to field an XI with several of the younger stars getting an opportunity, as well as some trialists under the watchful eye of our management duo.

The side will then travel to Bet Victor Division One West side Colne FC tomorrow. Kick off at Sovereign Play Stadium will be 3pm.

Steve Cunningham’s side finished 4th last season and made the Play-Offs, but were knocked out 2-1 by Leek Town to a 119th minute goal in the Semi Finals. Blues Player of the Season Gary Stopforth signed from the Reds last summer.

It is expected that a strong line-up will be named in Lancashire tomorrow. It could prove to be vital minutes for the likes of Akwasi Asante and Joel Taylor, who have been missing from the last few friendlies due to injury.
