MATCH PREVIEW | Brackley Town vs Chester | National League North

The Blues are back on the road once again to kick off November – with a tough test away at Brackley Town.

Kevin Wilkin’s side won their last home league game 8-0 against Bradford Park Avenue – and are a constant top seven side in the sixth tier these days. Last season, they were beaten on penalties by Spennymoor Town in the Play-Off Semi Finals, and will be expected to compete once more this term.

Their home form is outstanding, four wins and two draws from six matches. They’ve conceded just two goals at home in 2019/2020, and both were penalties – meaning the Blues are the latest side aiming to break through the Saints’ defence from open play.

Another solid side in defence are league leaders York City, who beat Bern and Jonno’s team 1-0 last weekend to inflict just a fourth home defeat for the Managers at Chester FC in the league since their arrival in May 2018.

After two draws on the road in October – a win tomorrow afternoon at St James Park would certainly be a big boost to the Blues as they sit eight points behind table toppers York City.

Last term, both meetings between Chester and Brackley were drawn. Dan Mooney’s two incredible strikes earned the Blues a point at St James Park on this exact same weekend last year, while a goalless draw down the Deva back in April was a fairly lively game.

    Kick off tomorrow is 3pm.
