MATCH PREVIEW | Curzon Ashton vs Chester

The Blues are back in action this evening – in their first away game of the National League North season.

It was less than 48 hours ago that the campaign got underway – and, as far as goalless draws go, an entertaining 90 minutes against Spennymoor Town.

The game saw chances at both ends – but a draw was probably a fair result. Anthony Dudley struck the crossbar, John Pritchard’s excellent free kick was brilliantly tipped over, and Grant Shenton made some great saves in goal; so plenty of positives for ‘Bern and Jonno’ to take into tonight.

Curzon got off to the best possible start on Saturday. A tough opening match against Darlington looked tougher when Simon Ainge put ‘The Nash’ behind, but goals from Mason Fawns and Connor Hughes saw John Flanagan’s men take all three points.

For the Blues, Matty Hughes is serving the final game of his suspension – which could see Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley name an unchanged team.

    Kick off tonight is 7.45.
