MATCH PREVIEW | Hednesford Town vs Chester | Buildbase FA Trophy

League attention diverted, the Blues head to Hednesford Town tomorrow for Buildbase FA Trophy action.

The First Round represents an opportunity to get one step closer to Wembley, and a chance to bank some funds for the football club.

Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s side were the first team to win at Brackley Town this season, with Anthony Dudley slotting home the winner at St James Park in the Third Qualifying Round.

They face a Hednesford side that sit 4th in the BetVictor Southern Central Premier. They have however just lost Manager Gary Hayward, who departed the club to join Buxton a few weeks back.

It will be an important game to try to bounce back in, after last Saturday’s floodlight affected 2-0 defeat at Darlington. The damage was done in the first half, conceding two soft goals, but the Blues did create chances in the second 45 – without converting.

Prize money for Round One is £4,500 for the winners, and the losers receive £1,500.

Should the match end as a draw, a replay will be played at the 1885 Arena on Tuesday night (17th), kick off 7.45pm.
