Match Preview: Hereford (a)

Calum McIntyre’s men travel to Edgar Street on Saturday to face play-off challengers Hereford.

The Blues’ most recent outing culminated in a 1-1 draw with Curzon Ashton at the Deva, as an early lead thanks to a Will Hayhurst own goal was cancelled out by a drilled strike from Alex Curran.

The reverse fixture ended in a dominant victory for the Seals down CH1, courtesy of a brace from Charlie Caton and a bullet header from Tom Peers.

Andy Williams secured a point from the penalty spot for the Bulls during our last trip to Herefordshire after Elliott Whitehouse had grabbed an early lead from close-range.

    The Opposition

Paul Caddis’ side have bounced back from a poor start to March with back-to-back wins that has moved the club back into the top seven.

The first of the pair was an impressive 3-1 home victory over Curzon Ashton before an away success over Farsley Celtic.

The Bulls’ start to 2025 featured a fantastic run of results during a busy spell between late January and the end of February, a streak that saw eight wins and 24 points collected in just 28 days.

Hereford sit inside the top seven on goal difference with five games remaining, with Curzon Ashton and King’s Lynn Town also level on 69 points.

    The Gaffer

Former Birmingham City full-back Paul Caddis has been in the dugout at Edgar Street since May 2023.

In his first season in charge, the 36-year-old led the club to a mid-table finish, an improvement from 16th to 11th compared to the previous campaign.

The Scottish international started his playing career at Celtic, where he made 22 appearances before a move to Swindon Town in 2010.

His most notable stint came at St. Andrews for Birmingham City between 2012-17.

During this spell, Caddis famously helped City to Championship survival when he netted a late goal on the final day away at Bolton Wanderers.

    One To Watch

Remaye Campbell has made an instant impact on the Bulls’ squad since his arrival in mid-February.

The striker joined from Matlock Town and has scored on five occasions in 10 outings, playing a major role in the club’s fantastic form in February.

The 24-year-old began his career at Notts County but has featured for a number of clubs in recent years, including Grantham Town, Ilkeston Town and Basford United.

Campbell has formed a great partnership with winger Jaiden White, who netted in both of Hereford’s recent victories over Curzon Ashton and Farsley Celtic.
